The Clash gets its name by combining usually opposite traits of (power + control) + (flexibility + stability) all within the same frame. The Clash 100 is designed to take advantage of the more vertical swing of the modern game. The racquet bends in a specific way, which creates a deeper ball pocket and enhances the overall feel of the frame – while still providing excellent stability.
THE GOOD Wilson has added all-new technology into the Clash, starting with the introduction of “Free Flex.” Powered by a proprietary carbon mapping, the Clash bends in all-new dimensions so players can swing freely with more confidence. Wilson also developed the Clash with a unique frame geometry known as “Stable Smart” – providing best-in-class stability and power, making the Clash one of the most flexible frames in tennis.
THE BAD While the Wilson Clash 100 is a great racquet there are some tradeoffs. Most notably, the Clash is good in several areas; it's not particularly the best in any area - it won't deliver the most spin, best control, or highest level of power. So if you are a player who knows they need to focus on one area of their game, then the Wilson Clash 100 may not bring as much improvement to your game as you’d like.
THE BASELINE Overall, the Wilson Clash 100 is a great feeling racquet for a wide variety of player types looking for a mixture of power, control, and spin. The Clash 100 is particularly beneficial for players that rely on higher power and spin-friendly tennis racquets but struggle with the stiffness of those racquets
THE GALLERY Here are few comments made by Midwest customers who purchased the Wilson Clash 100:
“My forehand is my weaker side and this racquet gave me more power and control. I was also looking for an arm-friendly tennis racquet but it's too soon to tell if this racquet made any difference. I do have problems returning hard shots but I'm still getting used to the racquet. Overall this is a great racquet!” - Chris
“The Wilson Clash 100 has really helped my game. I have much better depth control (when I do my part) and the spin I can generate is fantastic. The Clash is perfect for an intermediate player with a vertical stroke.” - Randy
“I have been playing with a Head Radical Youtek IG OS for the last 7 years due to elbow issues. I have been searching for a replacement racquet for years. I have finally found it in the Wilson Clash 100. I have played 11 sets over the last 3 days and I have NO ELBOW issues! I do have to make some small adjustments because I have a lot more power with this racquet without losing control. If I swing nice and easy the racquet performs Great! If I try to muscle up like I had to with my Head Radical the ball flies long and I do not have the control that I need. Overall a great racquet and my stick for the upcoming USTA season.”- Mike
